Welcome to the Crowd Fusion Beta!
We've invited you to two spaces in Assembla, the Framework and Samples spaces. We've also invited you to the Crowd Fusion Google Group, which will be used as a discussion mailing list and forum once we move from the current private beta to an open beta.
The Framework includes our ticketing system for bug reporting and the wiki where you will find the majority of our current documentation as we prepare to move that documentation to the Crowd Fusion site.
The Samples include sample applications and plugins.
Getting Started
- IRC chatroom — We've set up the #crowdfusion IRC channel. Feel free to jump into the room and talk with us, leave us a message, or simply to chat with your fellow beta testers. If you need to paste code into the IRC, please use our Crowd Fusion Pastebin.
- Installation — walks you through the steps of installing Crowd Fusion. Take careful note of the installation requirements and the bolded items throughout the instructions, as these are the places where people most often run into problems during installation.
- The Introductory Tutorial — is highly recommended after installation as it walks you through the basics of working with Crowd Fusion and introduces you to several key concepts that are covered in our list of Glossary Terms and elsewhere. In this tutorial, you will be building a plugin, creating an aspect, creating a CMS screen for your plugin, installing the plugin, creating an element, creating a node, creating a template, and adding a route.
- Next steps — Once you've completed the tutorial, check out the Table of Contents to dive into more documentation. If you run into any problems or discover any bugs, feel free to either chat with us in the IRC chatroom or open a ticket in Assembla. If you have questions and none of us are around in the IRC room, please leave a message in the Google Group. Also please tell us what you're working on and what you've built in the Google Group, so that other beta testers can see what cool things you're building on Crowd Fusion!
- Staying up to date — We're actively developing on the core, so you'll want to download the latest versions as they become available.
Have fun! We're excited to have you join us in Crowd Fusion!
